I'm not sure whether this year is the one where we all get shiny metal spacesuits and start plowing the skies in flying cars and vacationing on Alpha Centauri or if it's the one where the robots gain sentience, violently revolt and enslave us and our children, destroying everything humanity has worked toward for billions of years, but either way, 2009 should prove interesting.
