I Had It ... & I Lost It

If I told you how many times I sat in front of an empty "Create Post" screen only to come up with nothing in the way of delicious, nutritious new postiness, you wouldn't believe me. You'd say, "Dylan, seriously, you tried to post that many times and came up dry every. Single. Time? You are like some kind of a liar or something." But I am not a liar. I am a truther. Honest Abe, I have not been able to scrape anything together for my fellow Internet denizens as of late.

What is wrong with me? Did whatever organ that controls bloggingness suddenly stop functioning? Did the well of potential posts dry up in some freakish, Dust Bowl-type of mind drought? Am I a total blogging has-been? Seriously, am I like the Jason Priestly of blogging? Because for a while there I had a good thing going, and now, now I fear I will never have another good idea on what to post on again. Ever.

Is this what the end feels like? Because it sort of feels like something that sucks big time.

Can you help? What should I be blogging about? Seriously, I need help. I stand before you a broken man. Please put my blogmind back together again with the Crazy Glue of your brain juices. Please, Obi Wan Kenobi ... you're my only hope...

I just counted it up, and I've been doing this blog-type thing for (if I don't have my math all wrong) over 7 years.
That is a long time.
What I'm trying to say is these low times with no idea or inspiration come and go. The important thing is to not quit.
If you're not posting it makes it that much harder to get back into it, so don't stop.
Sometimes you have to just post something simple to keep you moving until you're able to get some more substantive ready to go.

Well, that's too bad. It was fun while it lasted.

As an suggestion, you should be talking about comics.
A lot.

Chris, Anything specifically you'd like me to tackle? Seriously, I'd welcome any suggestions.

Well, I'm on a bit of a Grant Morrison kick as of late, so I wouldn't mind seeing you tackle what you consider to be his greatest hits.
You could make a week or so of it.. a Top 5 or 7 or 10 or 4.. I mean, whatever number you're comfortable with is fine. Each post a little (or big) in-depth on your thoughts about the work, what it means to his greater comicography, why it stands where it stands for you personally, yadda x 3.

Dylan,

Create an on-line comic on the bigred, something serialized between your regular postings ... go out on a limb. They're gonna love it!

you could give us a photographic tour of some of your favorite spots in cleveland.

you could also explain to us how you got so damn sexy.

or, you could do a flashback friday where you post a scan of an old photo of yourself & then tell a hilarious story along with it.

I like both of those ideas also.

i like candace's idea!

i asked you ages ago if you ever visited the rock and roll hall of fame but you never answered me back.

no worries. i've since forgiven you for your insolence.

Comment from Ryan Adams:

You should write an entry about cravings you get when your wife is pregnant. My wife is pregnant, and I crave peaches. I think that would be the most fascinating post ever. Did you hear that? It sounded like a collective yawn, huh?
